About

Grace Otto

Grace Otto (American, b. 2003) is a painter, sculptor, and writer who uses her work to unveil the paradoxical nature of lesbianism as both beauty and the grotesque. She addresses the enigmatic coexistence of freedom and suffocation of queerness within a male-centered society. Grace graduated from Pratt Institute’s two-year intensive program in Utica, NY. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology along with a semester-long gallery internship at Ruiz-Healy Art Gallery in May of 2025. She is currently designing and establishing a queer, feminist zine alongside a small group of queer artists and writers.

Grace has received several awards for her work in both regional competitions and an academic setting, the most recent being the Fran Fiorentino Award for Excellence in Drawing awarded by Pratt Institute. Her paintings have been displayed at the Munson Museum, The Rockefeller Institute of Government, The McCulley Gallery, and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Most recently, her work was displayed at the FIT John E. Reeves Great Hall for the 2025 Fine Arts Thesis Exhibition.
